STORY TIME!
Madra is a soul-warming dessert drink from our J&K. It is one of Puja’s night-time rituals cause it ticks all her favourite ingredients boxes: turmeric, coconut (she has dreams of a coconut world), and nutty dry fruits.
We also have to tell you its origins (MANDATORY): since it has dry fruits, it is evident that it had royal beginnings. This royal dessert drink belonged to the royal Dogras (a community of J&K); it was and is usually slurped on Diwali to mark the arrival of winter and on Lohri (a harvesting festival of Northern India) to mark the end.
